WHAT'S NEW ON WOWD?

WOWD is excited to announce that we're bringing on new DJs with new shows, adding even more pieces to our already colorful musical mosaic.

Nine People's Favorite Thing, alternate Sundays from 7-8 PM. Judy hosts a show dedicated to modern musical theater. This new show will alternate in the Sunday 7-8 PM slot with Takoma Cabaret, our long running Broadway music show. (Coil Project Variety Hour now airs every other Sunday from 6-7 PM.)

High-n-Low, an hour of indie rock hosted by DJ Urbanowa on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Mondays from 6-7 PM.

Variety is the Spice of Life, hosted by Christine, alternate Sundays from 5 to 6pm. This bi-weekly show, features an eclectic selection of downtempo and midtempo electronic music. Expect to hear flavors of - and influences from - funk, jazz, world music, hip-hop, soul, and Latin music.

Eclectic Soul, hosted by Semaj, Wednesdays at 10 PM. It's a deep dive in musical cultures explored mainly in black and brown communities such as bounce, go go music, house, reggae, and R&B.

A Denser Weave alternate Tuesdays at 10 PM. Hosted by Simon, this biweekly show (alternating with MOOD MUSIC) presents avant-garde music, mostly instrumental and atmospheric.

Como La Flor Monday evenings at 7 PM. An hour of cumbia music hosted by Valentina.

After-School Special, Tuesdays at 5pm, hosted by Addy, a Wilson High School student.
Silicon Symphonies alternate Wednesdays from 6 'til 8 PM. Hosted by "Et," who calls it a "chaotic neural soundtrack to the A.I. apocalypse AND a good excuse to move your feet."
Rudie Patootie is Thursdays from 5 'til 6 PM. It's a Ska music show, delving into all types of Ska, plus other upbeat tunes with horns. Rae hosts weekly
Days Have Gone By is alternate Thursday nights from 11 PM 'til 1 AM. On this new biweekly show, Matt plays songs of an ethereal nature, drawing from genres such as jazz, psych, folk, and American Primitive.
