WHAT'S NEW ON WOWD!

What’s new on WOWD!

• Block Period (Fridays at 10pm) - New hosts are Grace, Emma, Ve and Lila.

• Confluences with Ivanna (alternate Saturdays at 12pm) - DJ Ivanna highlights contemporary music that fuses Black diasporic music traditions, including (but not limited to) jazz, R&B, soul, dub, hip-hop, and electronic music.

• Electric Sandwich with Butch (Thursdays at 4pm) - One hundred years of underground sound. Rock, jazz, psych, funk, indie rock, dub, classical, world, metal, ambient, and the artists that make Takoma and DC famous.

• Good Trouble with Steve Caplan, Ben Vaughn and Steve Chambers (Mondays at 10pm) - Music addressing themes of freedom, social injustice, racial inequality, and activism in terms both overt and covert, obscure and apparent, direct and tangential.

• Left of Soul with Timantha (alternate Saturdays at 12pm) - An exploration of the quirkier, experimental, and avant-garde corners of modern soul and R&B music.

• Play it By Ear with Hope and Pippa (alternate Mondays at 7pm) - Every episode has a general theme that is discussed in depth through personal anecdotes and music program. Each theme is curated with songs ranging from different genres (mainly classical and pop/indie), connecting to the theme through storytelling and perspective as young classical musicians that perform this repertoire in the DMV.
