Takoma Radio / WOWD went on the air at 9:43am on July 16, 2016. WOWD has been your dedicated companion for FOUR of the most unpredictable years of a lifetime.
The number FOUR
signifies stability, focus, and a secure foundation for the future.
calls in the need for having a sacred space and sanctuary in the home.
asks for persistence and endurance, and wants us to “plant” or center ourselves to prepare for the long-haul.
WOWD thanks you for helping us build our foundation. We appreciate the sacred space you have made for us in your life. Our FOURTH birthday wish is that you join us as we persevere into the future.

In response to this unique Graduation 2020 season, the City of Takoma Park sponsored a Congratulatory Drive all Takoma Park graduating high school seniors on Saturday, June 13.
The new graduates drove along a designated route around City neighborhoods where residents cheered them on from their yards in support.
WOWD joined in by playing music of celebration and reading the names of graduating seniors. Listen back here.
