No Maps traces the paths of rhythms and traditions across places and over time, focusing on African, Latin American, and North American musical creation and dialogue, mixing in new technologies and recovered sounds from all corners of the world. No Maps is drawn to any and all infectious grooves, reflected in the invention and reinvention of our complicated musical diasporas.
Predictably Unpredictable / DJ Chris Buckridge /Sunday 3-5pm
Predictably Unpredictable is not bound by genre; it is a string of recordings in an enjoyable sequence. Sometimes there is surf music.
Scenes / DJ Noah Caldwell / Tuesday (biweekly) 10pm-midnight
Scenes features electronic music -- primarily house and techno -- from artists and labels around the DMV, along with segments that zoom into specific dance music scenes worldwide.
Now Playing / Ben Jones / Tuesday (biweekly) 2-4pm - Premieres April 8th
Now Playing highlights the best upcoming concerts in the DMV, with a special focus on the local music scene. Ben Jones shares his love of live music, from humble house shows to stadium tours. This format crosses rock, hip-hop, jazz, and punk genres.
DIYNot / Andy Liaupsin / Tuesday (biweekly) 2-4pm - Premieres April 15
DIYNot features the sounds of the youth from DC and beyond. Expect all the latest and greatest in DIY punk, emo, hardcore, and more as we dive into all the bands that keep the scene alive and exciting. Expect new releases, great interviews, and deep cuts to help you find your new favorite band.
This Year's Model / John Davis / Wednesday (biweekly) 10pm-midnight - Premieres April 16
John Davis hosts This Year's Model. Every episode focuses on a specific year (from 1954 to 2024). It crosses popular music genres (rock, R&B, pop, country, reggae, etc.) to contextualize a body of songs we usually hear as discrete works. Every year is a musical mosaic, and This Year's Model brings the image into view.
7th & Twang / DJ Adam Thomas (biweekly) Friday 3-4pm - Premieres April 25th
7th and Twang refers to the seventh chords found in the blues, jazz, gospel, soul, and/or the twang in country, Americana, folk, southern rock, etc.
