WELCOMING AMERICA with WOWD

Takoma Radio’s mission is to build bridges and promote understanding, so when we were invited to take part in an annual project coordinated by Welcoming America, we said yes! The project is called Welcoming Week, and this year it runs from September 13 to 22.

The theme is immigration and inclusion, so WOWD decorated and displays a refurbished door that symbolizes an opening -- into homes, businesses, communities and opportunities.

The community contributed stories and words to the door expressing the credo that all people are valued and are vital to our community and our future.
